Initially I had doubt about the allegation made by the ranking member of Defence and Interior committee of Parliament but actions after the allegation from government has changed my view on this allegation. There is definitely high level of Truth in the allegation. By whose interest will the government spoke person tell us untue account of events. When government communication lack strategy, this is what happens. Allowing agencies with responsibilities at the airport to first speak to it before the government spokes person fill in the gaps when the need be. Currently, the whole government response is a mess. Only Parliament may salvage this untidy situation

They are probably not drug smuggling (not discounting that though), but more likely illicit gold transportation, especially with regards to the Russian crewed large Antonov 12 transport aircraft. Russia through its private military companies, Wagner Group and others, have been busily being involved in galamsey activities in Mali, Central African Republic, DRC, Angola and Mozambique. That is how the Russian private military companies are being paid to provide "advisors" to the various government especially in Mali, Burkina Faso and Central Africa Republic.

Now that we are legalizing Chinese galamsey activities in Ghana, why not also include the Russian oligarchs who have vast sums of money that they need laundered into the global financial markets to get around the the Western economic, financial and trade sanctions currently imposed on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.

With the smaller air ambulance private jets I would speculate that they are probably moving cash around to deposit into our banking systems as part of the money laundering scheme I alluded to in the paragraph above. So the money laundering involves 2 elements
1. Purchase Gold (galamsey gold) which is shipped out via the Antonov 12 (gold is heavy and bulky so need large aircraft)
2. the Air ambulance private jets fly in the cash money (Dollars, Euros, Swiss Francs, Pound Sterling, Japanese Yen primarily) to pay for the transactions.
