On what grounds should Mahama remove the Chief Justice?
For what? For insubordination?

Right now there is no prima facie case of insubordination established against the Chief Justice, neither is there any case of malfeasance established against the woman.
The reality is just simple. The NDC is a party known for its wanton abuses of rule of law, human rights and criminal justice laws. Considering the past record of the AFRC/ P/NDC.

The NDC is the only party known in the history of Ghana and the Gold Coast for executing three High Court Judges and one military officer with in the cover of the night with impunity. And as we remember? the trial of the perpetrators of that heinous crime was bungled and there was a speculation that the alleged principal orchestrating convict was said to have been released and sent to live in Libya, even after Ghanaians were shown pictures of a staged firing squad of one Captain Amatey Quaye by the erstwhile P/ NDC JJ Rawlings military junta.

NDC is also known as the very party that threatened to abduct, rape or marry a former Chief Justice: Mrs Theodora Woods by force. The perpetrators in that abominable attempt were also pardoned and set free by John Manama, even after those known NDC thugs were convicted of the crime and sentenced to serve about six months each in the Nsawam Government Penitentiary.

Again the NDC is known or have been cited in many instances for verbally threatening and abusing the members of our Judiciary.
Despite all these abuse on the judiciary, the Mahama administration is also plotting to remove the current Chief Justice based on some flimsy excuses . But some of us will be quick to report the administration to the international community, given how John Mahama himself made several attempts to paint the Akuffo-Addo administration as the government that abused the rule of law, intruded and trampled upon Ghanaian citizens civil rights when the NDC was in opposition.
Especially in reminiscent of the infamous speech John Mahama gave at the Chatham House in January 2023

You were all over doing NPP politics at the courts, scheduling cases at the supreme court that favored the NPP early and delivering judgements at supersonic speed whiles shelving cases that will not favor NPP and their government, transferring judges who will deliver fair judgements that the government then will not be happy with and even caught on camera at the bar association meeting in Kumasi laughing at a very dry joke by the former president to spite the John Mahama. Only you and the president of the bar association found this joke funny enough to trigger your laughter out of the thousands that were in attendance. Why would you feel over working with the people you treated so contemptuously? You should have known that your tenure as CJ will end the day your party leaves government.

Why won’t Mahama John Cribo try to remove the Chief Justice? After all this is the former President whose party is known for killing three High Court Judges and a military officer with impunity. And as if that wasn’t enough, Mahama also supervised over a government that instigated their hoodlums to rape and kidnap another Chief Justice ( Mrs Theodora Woods) with impunity.

Even when those criminals were apprehended, tried and convicted, the goon set aside the conviction, turned himself into a judge — and without consulting any recognized legal authority went ahead and pardoned the scofflaws. So what prudent action can such a person make in respect to the current situation?

To let the imminent outgoing CJ feel her own medicine. Please, you can let the committee work drag for the remaining years of your term so she feels her own medicine. However, because she wouldn’t be working, she should not be paid. If she is acquitted on your last day in office on January 6, 2028, then you can restate her. However, if she is found culpable, which I know she will, then on the same date let her know her fate. The same way they treated Domevlo and the LGBTQ bills, let her feel the same thing. Next time she will dispense justice more expeditiously.
