Well said, Ato Baah. Ghana cannot develop if we keep importing certain goods. Our young girls complete their training as dressmakers, and then turn I to househelps simply because there are no jobs for them. The young boys learn carpentry and there are no jobs for them after their training. Please Ato Baah, let us have the list as quickly as possible.

That's a great idea eve though it is not an entirely new idea and so we will implore government most passionately to ensure that they adhere strictly to the policy and any government officials who flaut the directive is severely sanctioned if not sacked from his office..
However, one other thing I wish to suggest is that government should in furtherance of it's 24 hour economic policy develop a Special initiative for those in the WOOD WORKING AND METAL FABRICATORS INDUSTRY.
This policy must help to retrain, support and equiped our artisans in these two major industries to up their game by way of quality of their products, meet international standards, design, innovations and develop the capacity to mass produce their products in order to meet the demands of the Ghanaian markets and that of markets in subregion of west Africa.
Government must consider this suggestions serious because we import huge volumes of furniture and furniture related products to meet our needs at home, in our offices and for other purposes.
Again we also import huge volumes fabricated metal products for both domestic and industrial purposes machines for processing our agric and other processed food products, like bread etc .

Factories such as Wenchi and Pwalugu canned canned factory; Bolgatanga Meat factory; Tumu Cotton Ginnery, Kumasi Shoes and Jure Bags factories; Tema Textiles TTL; GTP; Akosombo Textiles ATL; Juapong Textiles; VALCO; Tema Boat Yard; GIHOC; GNTC; SCC; Nsawam Cannery; and many others of the over 400 factories set up by visionary Dr Nkrumah.
Today, we are reinventing the wheel. Sad and sad.

You don't restrict some import. That's imposition. You rather create a situation where such imports become unattractive to the local market. That's the difference.
