I can't believe this story. If my memory serves me right, so many African countries boycotted the 1982 AFCoN because they didn't sing to the tunes of Gaddafi's revolutionary ideas. It became a very nice opportunity for the Black Stars to win the match. Lybia was very disorganised because of Gaddafi's unpopular stance on his foreign policy. Lybia had no strong team to match Ghana so Gaddafi wouldn't have tried. Rawlings owed Gaddafi both financially and militarily so he Rawlings couldn't have snubbed Gaddafi.
