Frankie or what do you call urself,if you say parents must pay for boarding fees what about majority in rural areas who don't stay close to any secondary school, they are those who really need free education, may be the nearest secondary school is more than 100km away, the farmers who feed those in cities and towns do not stay close to the schools so if you say only day students should enjoy free education then you are missing the targeted group who really need free education

We have children with the mind that someone should take care of them for free, just like we want everything free. Black man mentality. They can't do anything for themselves.

Free SHS program has reduced the quality of secondary education in Ghana. The double track system is not good for quality education. Free SHS program has brought overcrowding in our secondary schools and its not good for the health and welfare of our students.. Students in category A schools are experiencing inadequate feeding in their schools because of ill - planned free SHS program. Politicians should be bold and review the free SHS program to improve the quality of secondary education in Ghana.

How does Free SHS affect discipline? It has nothing to do with discipline, there is no correlation, except the commitment to instil discipline. We’ve had free education in the North since independence, and that did not affect discipline. Why should it affect it now? Except for the lack of commitment or the unwillingness to instil discipline. Let’s learn how to separate the wheat from the chaff, and always how not to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Now the hypocrites are coming out from their hideouts. Where were they when well meaning Ghanaians were calling for a review of the policy. Because of their stomach they zipped their mouths and threw away pens and looked on as if all was well. Now they are coming out from their holes to speak truth to power because they're free.

People are just making noise. The quality of our students who travel outside after the free SHS program is good. They are comparable with students from other countries. We should look at it from the future human resource needs of the country. It is exciting now to see how the literacy levels have risen in all parts of the country. Let us take our time and study the system and bring in any improvement necessary. No need to cancel the whole policy. Anyway, you Catholic Bishops are supposed to be childless. That is you are not supposed to marry and bear children. But you appear to be talking from experience. Has anything changed? I would suggest that the government studies the situation carefully and take a decision. Nobody should be emotional about it. I just want some education on how the Free Senior High School program has impacted the rural areas. Especially what is the impact of FSHS policy on the rural girl child? Thanks

Please look up the dictionary and learn the meaning between review and cancel. Nowhere did the bishops say the FSHS should be cancelled. Again, in any population there are going to be brilliant students. Those students will excel in any educational system they enter. So don't use the yardstick of the less than 1% of Ghanaian students entering and performing excellently in schools abroad as a yardstick of the quality of the graduands of the FSHS. The quality of the average student we are churning out is simply not great.

Mr Newself, what is the basis of your assertion that majority of the products of free SHS are simply not good. This statement should be made after empirical studies. It should not be based on what you feel. The quality of the products of free SHS depends on your location. People exposed to civilized behavior have a different criteria to assess the quality of a program. If you want to talk about quality, there should be dimensions of quality. That is what is the ‘concept of quality’? What are the dimensions of quality? How do you measure quality? There are other issues to consider. So don’t sit somewhere and make noise about a policy

Where were they during the past 8 years? They want to trap the NDC, and makes it looks like the NDC want to cancel the FSHS.

They should just cancel the free SHS and stop all this brouhaha over review and whatever.
I guess Ghanaians just want to pay for their own school fees. They should just cancel it so we can have our peace of mind.
