  Fort Amsterdam holds a critical key point for tourism in the Central Region, along the Accra-cape Coast Road. Abandze is blessed with a beautiful lagoon, which will make every visitor to the fishing town feel most welcome. Visit the town and feel the breeze of the Gulf of Guinea blowing on your face. The beaches are wide, sandy and loose, spreading along a lengthy stretch on the coastline.

  The fort sits right on the hill in the middle of Abandze. Kormantse is a little walk away from Abandze, but the fort is not situated there. Hiposrically, people came from Kormanatse to work at the fort and decided to settle there, thus giving the name of the new town as Abandze, that is, under the government.
  So factually, Fort Amsterdam is in Abandze.
