Better to keep the fee at 500 cedis and transfer the 150 cedis difference into a dedicated pot to pay for the needy in our country

What's wrong with charging $7-8 per passport when that amount does not equal a day's salary in Ghana? It's good the passport application fee has been reduced to ghc350 by the new regime.

NPP just came to loot, share and destroy the economy. Ghanaian politicians are thieves who think they are offering their citizens free services.

The need to pay GHC500 is not a big problem as far as it could last for 10 years . The first time NDC in power disgracefully it was 5 years. GHC500 is preferred for 10 years to GHC350 for 5years. That is for your information ...

The country needs the income from passports in order to balance its accounts which only comes from people who can afford to travel abroad. It would have been wise to leave the fee at the current rate or increase it so that the government could make some more money from citizens who have more than enough. Playing politics with our political system in order to gain favor is what is killing and will continue to destroy Ghana. This new minister has already had his experts look into the pros and cons of his decision before announcing it in such a short period of time is most doubtful. May Nawuni bless my homeland Ghana.YEN
