The Constitution must be amended to correct this anomaly. It's a national call for national duty!

Once an MP and a Minister , you become an extension and part of the executive arm of government. It is the same parliament that has oversight of these Ministries. How different is this from a BOG board member? We should address the cause of the problems and not symptoms

Look, the current constitution was written under duress and so has alot of weaknesses and stifling by the current crop of politicians who are exploiting it. Rawlings and his June 4th coupers may have had good concerns on June 4th but after tasting power for 19 years, those concerns were no longer important to him at the time of writing the constitution. Look at all those people who claim they were arrested and jailed for June 4th etc, today they have enjoyed corruption with some like the npp former chairman blay promised 200 buses to be voted for as party chairman. Was this what he was jailed for by June 4th? If that was what he was fighting for then it served him right. Ghana need a nationalist military headquarters which is development oriented and not be influenced or headed by politicians. Look at people like nitiwul and their influence on the military for 8 damn years, the military became a tribalistic and Akuffo Addo thuggery group under cover whose uniforms was given to people to commit crime and go. Was this what Adabuga and Akataporri fought for? USA, UK, Germany and no part of the world is better than Ghana. The only problem in Ghana is the behavior of its people when given power. Rawlings said the presidency should have been such that, even if it was the devil himself put there, it must do what the people of Ghana want, though he tried, he wasn't truly like that. Let Ghana be able to vote if the need arises even one month after voting to correct their mistaken winners. So elections should not wait for years. That's too damn long and can repeat the Akuffo Addo's family delebrate destruction of Ghana by stealing all of Ghana's gold through his nigerian in-law's and ken ofori atta's conflict of interest. Kuffour started it. Even though Rawlings didn't live up to his word, things became worse when Kuffour came. Diverting all juicy government contracts to prudential bank they bought freshly from two owners which they used to do business and that bank ended up being the private bank that gave loan to his son(s) to acquire hotel dewawa. Does this make common sense? Meanwhile he appointed his younger brother as minister for defence to protect him to steal then kwodwo baah wiredu as finance minister. How different is that from the Akuffo Addo's own?

This is a platform for sharing ideas. I have therefore welcomed the proponent of this discussion. Study carefully and remember the underlinement of the Constitution. It does not alignate or support the strict separation of works and powers of Bodies of State. It does somehow drawn Parliament into the Executive but not the other way round. Again, the Executive have hands in the judiciary. But the opposite is not direct until it is drawn into. Now to Boards, they are under specific Ministry or Minister. Though BoG is an independent body it has a Representative of the Executive Arm of Govt as the Board Member holding Minister of State or Deputy Minister's grade.. It therefore holds that an MP can be on any Government instituted Board, this time it is BOG. Not to justify the previous government, however to quote a few instances, an MP was Board Chair of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital though it was under a Ministry headed by a Minister. We recently had an MP head ECG Board.
On Adongo, I had already selected and concluded that the President cannot take he and the present Finance Minister enbloc to Finance Ministry. Should that be done, nothing new will come out of them that will benefit the State. The other place he could fit into was Trade but it would be better for Comerce minded person than Finance. The only place I had zeroed him down was BoG Board and the President had it right. Where a government is open, let us make the best out of it for the State. Individuals may have specific aims but the broader use of such situations are better.
