4 years ago, parliament decided to hold this same program at Rock City Hotel. But after deliberation, the Speaker said the program should be at the parliament house and we can't have an edifice like the parliament house and still go and organise programs outside the house transporting MPs and parliamentary staff, accommodation and feeding at a cost to the task payer. That day I really commended Mr Soeaker and was so proud that at least cost saving initiatives were being implemented.

I don't know what has changed and the same speaker now wants it done outside the parliament house and more so outside Accra.

As for this one, I sided with the minority.

There should be consistency in our dealings.

A program that was organised in the 8th parliament successfully is being moved to a location outside Accra.

Is it going to be free?

We need to be consistent to sustain the gains being made and stop being partisan regarding issues.

Am of the believe that this program can successfully be carried out at the house just like it was done 4 years ago.

So what has changed? Is not the waste of tax payers money and state funds? I think the speaker of Parliament has so much being partisan in Parliamentary activities than expected even though we know him to be a member of the NDC. The NDC has made so much noise about corruption in the run up to the elections but from indications many of these appointees will soon be exposed. The minority is therefore, right to boycott the event.

If NPP MPs, could spark a brawl in Parliament, breaking table-legs, tearing off cables and destroying mics, calling their colleagues names and denying it publicly thereafter, threatening to drag people to court which became a mantra, staging press conferences now and then, letting lose their anger on the innocent and apologising thereafter, etc, I think this workshop would have helped to reshape their boisterous ways of conduct and also fine-tune them to regain their former prestige of being called honorable members. Would they have happily participated if the venue were somewhere in the Ashant Region? The NPP leader said they were not consulted on the venue. This is hard to understand. Those who choose to dwell in ignorance have a high price to pay in the end. A poor leadership can destroy an entire nation. Juxtapose this to the Ukrain war and come home to sturdy how NPP was critically defeated. Not worth talking too much.
