What is c15 million cedis, that the nation can’t afford for Independence Day celebrations . For some of us, the only national event that matters is the 6th March anniversary and the attendant marching and celebration. If a country with a GDP of c100 billion cannot spend cI5m to celebrate this national event, then nothing is worthwhile in this country.

What are we even celebrating? Are we really independent? We run to IMF and the like with cup in hand begging for handouts then come home to celebrate our freedom with the little money we have. I support what the preacher man is saying. Celebrating our independence should be a small affair until we really achieve as a nation. When we reach the level that countries like Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia etc are whom we all gain independence with at similar times in our history then we can do grand celebrations but not now when we can't even generate electricity or water supply to consumers!!!

Mahama has declared another holiday for Eid ul fitr. A holiday costs the country in excess of of c300 million, and yet because of c15 million, you abolish Independence Day celebration.
What twisted NDC Mahama logic.
