If a country with a GDP of c100 billion cannot spend cI5m to celebrate this national event, then nothing is worthwhile in this country.

I support what the preacher man is saying. Celebrating our independence should be a small affair until we really achieve as a nation. When we reach the level that countries like Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia etc are whom we all gain independence with at similar times in our history then we can do grand celebrations but not now when we can't even generate electricity or water supply to consumers!!!
