When Dr Nkrumah and his CPP were building the Ghana Education Trust schools, they planned to build Yaa Asantewa Girls SHS at Ejisu to honour Yaa Asantewa, the brave Asante Queen but the Ejisu chief who had become a member of the National Liberation Movement (NLM) and was a supporter of the NLM didn't want anything from Dr Nkrumah and his CPP. He opposed the project. So Yaa Asantewa Girls SHS was taken to and built at Tanoso.

The effect of that was the reason why the airport naming Yaa Asantewa was rejected, and also Yaa Santewa College/Secondary School was sent from Ejisu to faraway Tanoso.
