Your Exelency, more grease to your elbow for not engaging in ostentation and profligacy like Akuffo Addo the Nebbucadenaazer. But, this should not be a nine day wonder; it should follow through. Modesty, modesty !!

Our independence is worth remembering and celebrated in grand style, no matter the cost, not in a wasteful manner though. Wasteful spending has nothing to do with cost. It is the significance and the value for money in spending that matters. The cost of something can be cheap, yet wasteful and worthless, while that of another can be expensive, yet has value for the money spent.
Let’s stop this shameful attitude of the so-called modesty that belittles the significance of our independence and rather project it has something worth commemorating, no matter the cost. Let’s demonstrate that even in our poverty, we cherish our freedom very much.

What freedom is there to celebrate in grand style when you are under IMF conditionalities? Please wake up.

After almost 70 years of SELF RULE, Ghana should not have been a backwater country. Infact, we magnify our STUPIDITY when we pour huge resources into things that do not progress the country. Mahama must be commended for the wisdom in being prudent in the management of state resources especially now that the country is economically trapped.

The independence celebrations should be abolish.
It has served no meaningful purpose for the development of our nation.
In order for the country to be thrive in prosperity, peace and stability, all one man charismatic churches and prayer camps should be ban completely for a start.
Most alcoholic drink's with sexual preference should be banned as well as it’s killing the youths.
Corruption after corruption, government after government with no significant sight of ending.
Most politicians with various higher degrees talk gibberish and arrogance with no knowledge of governance, and most TV and FM stations need to be shut down as it’s too many.
There’s filth in every major cities and towns and various kind of accidents in our roads, cos most of cars are death traps, police don’t care about it so long as they can collect money on road side.
How can one medicine can cure over twenty different diseases and still people are dying from various causes?
Our hospitals doesn’t work properly, nurses, doctors and staff are all corrupt.
What sort of country is Ghana to celebrate Independence Day?

What a bloody shame that Mahama and his NDC government keep disrespecting the Founder of the Nation by honoring the mercenary of the foreign powers, Kotoka!

Great. For the first time a Ghanaian President is not having the usual Independence day celebrations to reduce spending. Event organisers will be upset. They should understand. First things first. Kudos
