  RESPONSE TO THE ALLEGATION OF FALSE EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
  
  My attention has been drawn to a publication on Ghanaweb, an online publication platform, to the effect that, an NDC group from Asuogyaman Constituency in the Eastern Region has petitioned my political party alleging that, I, Bright Sikanku presented a falsified certificate in my application for the District Chief Executive (DCE).
  
  I would wish to directly and unequivocally address the allegations by first of all, completely denying this allegation of falsification of educational qualification. I state categorically that, all certificates I presented in my application to be considered for the position of the District Chief Executive for Asuogyaman are authentic and verifiable from the institutions.
  
  The confusion appears to have come from an error made by the person who assisted me in filling out the application forms. For the records, I presented a certificate of *Diploma in Business Studies (Purchasing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management option),* awarded to me in 2014 by London International Organization for Capacity Building, an affiliate of Accra Business School. It was this information that my assistant quoted wrongly, which was a mistake and not intended to mislead or falsify any information, as the petitioners wants to portray. Anyone who wish to, can verify this information from Accra Business School.
  
  In fact, I did not present any certificate to my party or the vetting committee, to the effect that, I attended Ghana Communication Technology University, and wonder how a simple mistake on a filled CV would be concluded by anyone to have amounted to falsification.
  
  All the original certificates I presented, as required by the party, are in the custody of the appointing authorities at both the regional and national levels of our party, and I have confidence in the mechanisms by which they verify the qualification of anyone.
  
  I therefore call on the public and all interested parties to disregard all these unfounded allegations aimed at defaming my character and causing disaffection for me. I remain firmly focused and ready to serve the NDC, Asuogyaman and Ghana with honesty, dedication, and transparency at all times.

  Yesterday; 31st January, 2024 on the ministerial vetting, we could see how important it was to ensure people who are appointed to occupying public positions must carry themselves.
  
  Let’s just assume any of the ministers appointed tried to forge any of the documents they presented to the committee, do you think it would have yielded good for the country knowing very well, the whole world was watching.
  
  It could be established that anyone who was appointed to occupying any office was capable, intelligent, affable and with some integrity. This is how we choose leaders.
  
  The NDC’s constitution article 42(1)(b) explicitly states its position on forgery of documents.
  
  Criminal offense act 1960( Act 29) states clearly how the 1992 constitution of the Republic of Ghana equally frowns on forgery.
  
  If anyone will want to occupy any office of such status, they must have the requisite qualifications and not to forge.
  
  Clearly we could see the evidence of the probe in his CV.
  
  Such an awkward act must not be tolerated by any person or persons unless of course they stand to support corruption of which the ORAL Team will surely go after.

  Considering the petition published and reading through one of the responses stating the petition was only premised on lies, you could clearly deduce that there are a lot of inconsistencies in the said response to the petition.
  
  It could clearly be established that whoever is supporting the response is not opened minded. Because how is it possible that anyone will commit an error on their cv and proceed to commit that same error on a nomination form that is filled with pen?
  
  Does it mean the person forgot his school too at the time of filling the nomination form or could it be he was misguided?

  Reading from the response to the petition made which seems to go viral across the four corners of Asuogyaman and the country, it was clearly stated that the chairman in his CV stated that between 2014 and 2016, read from a reputable university: GHANA TELECOM UNIVERSITY, DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS STUDIES (PURCHASING, LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT).
  
  As a means of ascertaining that the information provided in his CV and the Nomination form were true, it came out that;
  1. the said university DID NOT and NEVER did the program mentioned.
  2. ⁠The school in their database never had any student by the said name provided on the CV and the nomination form.
  
  Now the question is, assuming the error occurred only on the CV, where we will assume it’s pardonable, what of the act of repeating *SAME SCHOOL and PROGRAM” on the NOMINATION FORM that was filled by the applicants?
  
  Can we say that was as well a mistake or the nomination form was also filled at the blind side of the person who bore the name?
  
  If the answer is YES,
  
  Then the question now is how do we trust in the care of the chairman a whole constituency when he barely pays attention to details or even reads through his own information to ensure the right thing is done before taking the necessary step?
  
  Are we not likely to wake up one day and hear that our beloved Asuogyaman is sold out of NEGLIGENCE on the part of a man whose only fault was to make a “MISTAKE”?
  
  Let’s leave this for discerning people to decide.
