  Charley it sounds like a crime of passion to me. A lot of the new arrival asylum seekers get involved on nefarious things due to extreme desperation. What I do not understand is why they have invoked the major crimes unit to investigate. That means one of the two individuals involved in this tragedy was already under investigation otherwise this will be handled by the homicide unit. May the young man rest in peace.

His sister said he took Uber to work that day, so he may not be fully dependent on someone for a ride. FYI, murder is a major crime.

  The sister said he entered Canada as International student. Did you hear her mention the name of the school he was attending because I did not.
  
  This means he likely deferred his studies to make some money first which a lot of people do. Then when permits are about to expire they apply for asylum.
  
  She also said as soon as they received his provincial ID, he started looking for a job. He found a security job which she told him not to go and do but he started that job anyway. When the going got tough, he left and found the job where he met his untimely demise.
  She said he was taking Uber but the week prior to the incident, the murderer dropped the guy off from work on Thursday and Friday.
  Comes Monday night, the guy takes a knife to work (premeditated) and during their lunch break at 1:30AM, he stabs him 17 times in less than a minute.
  When the murderer was questioned by authorities, he will not say anything other than the guy said something to him in the previous week that offended him and that's why he killed him.
  The question is, what can a 23 year old black male(newly employed) say to a 53 year old white male (already gainfully employed) to make him go in a fit of rage and do this to him?.
  I sympathize with the family for their loss and hope the authorities can get more out of the murderer to give them closure.

THIS IS NORMAL IN CANADA AND THE USA. AT LEAST IF ALFRED HAD MADE THE GESTURE, THE STABBER COULD HAVE SAID OH, KEEP IT, ITS OK. THE GESTURE ALONE MEANS A LOT. IT SHOWS THAT YOU VALUE THE RIDES THAT THE MAN IS HELPING U WITH. IN THIS CASE, THE STABBER WAS ANGRY BECAUSE ALFRED PROBABLY NEVER BOTHERED TO CARE ABOUT THE COST THAT THE RIDER IS BEARING. WORSE OF ALL, THEY LIVED REALLY FAR AWAY FROM OUR WORK PLACE AND COMPLETELY OPPOSITE TO MY DIRECTION HOME. IT CONTINUED DAILY BUT IBDIDNT GET ANGRY. I FOUND ANOTHER JOB AND QUITE THEIR JOB.
