  From all indications, Mahama has begun his government on a weak footing.
  So far, he has not taken any decisive and firm action to stop the illegal mining activities. Also, he has not shown or demonstrated to Ghanaians that he is a man of action, considering the lootings and burnings of government and private properties allegedly being perpetuated by his misguided and uncontrollable supporters. He has the power to stop the vandalism immediately. Unfortunately, we've seen no action from him. Why? Is it that he is a coward or afraid to do something about it, or is it that he doesn't want to antagonize his die-hard supporters? Or that he fears taking action will undermine his power base.
