If there is anything our MPs have succeeded to do collectively, it is the lie about the salary. All of them peddle this falsehood. What Mr Agbodza called is just the basic salary. On top of that amount is all kinds of allowances and benefits which more than triple that amount. They take all kinds of allowances from domestic servant, gardener, driver, risk and so many many perks.
They also take sitting allowances for Committee sittings, travel allowances to constituencies and the almighty ex- gratia which they all take without disclosing. Have they announced how much they took for the last parliament which just ended?
Our politicians should just stop telling lies to us. They even go to the extent of wanting to kill to win power. Some of them have been there for 24 years and more. If it was not lucrative why do they fight so much to be in there?
If they won't tell us the truth they should not lie to us!!!!
