Former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reportedly extended a helping hand to traders affected by the recent Kantamanto Market fire in Accra.
He donated 250 packets of roofing sheets and ridge caps to assist in the rebuilding of structures, aimed at supporting the restoration of livelihoods destroyed by the devastating fire.
According to a post shared on X by CITI FM on January 16, 2025, the donation was presented on behalf of Dr Bawumia by the former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, and his team.
The post read, “Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has donated 250 packets of roofing sheets, along with ridge caps, to aid traders affected by the recent Kantamanto Market fire in rebuilding their businesses.

Several shops were destroyed, along with goods worth millions of Ghana cedis.
Traders have reportedly started rebuilding structures to resume business.
