  It will be almost impossible to do away with betting because it is addictive. Many will play it UNDER THE TABLE where they can’t be taxed. Many Ghanaians still do it that way now. The Government should just use measures not to encourage it. For example printing fewer betting tickets, and making it more tiring for winners to make their claims. Let purchases of betting tickets be done online and with Debit cards. Ban the betting but l know Ghanaians will find a way of going around it.

  How does abolishing betting tax impact on the economy? It's irrelevant Mr. Forson. Focus on replacing 'unrealistic' taxes like e-levy et al with road tolls and make it effective. Inflation should be checked ASAP to reduce cost of living. Betting is not relevant to most people and can be overlooked or even increased to prevent betting, nothing good comes out of it. It only shifts focus and make people lazy and irresponsible.

  Betting is simply gambling which the youth are trapped in. I know a lot affected by this get money quick syndrome, and that's where it becomes a moral issue. I personally didn't like this campaign message knowing the effects. Instead, I wished it increased to 40% to discourage the behavior. Removing it will worsen the get money quick syndrome in the absence of jobs for the youth. Sometimes it's not only the revenue to govt that determines some of these decisions but the behavior also needed for national development is key.
  
  I pray JM policies of job creation for the youth materializes then the products wont be patronized and eventually die off.

  I expect this government to donate every penny generated from E levy to Sudan refugees, since they they made it look like it an abomination. I was expecting them to abolish a day or two after coming into power.
