There was also a parliame t in place during that republic.When the first pr3sident was overthrown, it became necessary to start almost over again hence the 2nd Republic. The despotic Nkrumah was actually worse than the colonialists rule. His overthrow was like a second independence. The 3rd Republic followed with the Limann regime and the 4th with Rawlings who overthrew the 3rd Republic. Awesome Pratt has no case. He can rel8cate to Cambodia if he is not happy. We are now in the 9th Republic.

I disagree with my Honourable Kwasi Pratt. A nation attains the status of a republic when the people choose their own government. That is, when the people decide who governs them. Under military rule, the consent of the people is not sought to bring the government into being and therefore cannot be considered a republic.
