ECG is being mismanaged big time because of apathy, negligence, corruption etc. A case to support my point is the former P&T. They were terrible managing out telephone lines and mobile network till it went private. Due to completion we can now choose between Telecel, MTN, Tigo etc. Same as
state hotels. The government can regulate the cost so the private partner don't overcharge consumers. Electricity is sold by private companies all over in the advanced countries. In the UK where I used to live they send reps to our houses to sell power by convincing us to switch supplier for better tariffs. That's the way forward.

The only way to save it , is to enact a legislation in parliament t that will stop any future government from privatising it , but also allow an above board recruitment of qualified personnel to administer the company effectively and profitably to the benefit of Ghana and the tax payers . Anything short of the above will be a mirage , because some others are and we're still so bent in privatising the ECG to their own benefit regardless of what the circumstances were or weren't. Hopeless Nation with leaders who can not think far.

2 : How can a company like ECG make profit where there's political interference from various government appointees to get power to their locations , towns without the communities paying the necessary bills because someone wanted to win election.
3: How can ECG make profit where the citizenry are not ready to pay the right amount of energy they consumed.
4 : How can ECG make profit where some of their staffs treat customers and clients like without ECG they can't survive, some of their political staffs are so arrogant and very disrespectful to the extent that one will not like to report any problem with the company but rather find a solution themselves.

Also, there needs to be an overhaul of ECG leadership at all levels to make such partnerships a success.
