Why should this be an albatross around the neck of government? What role does government play in the costing of the airfare and other incidental expenses to and from the hajj? Does any of these expenses borne by the pilgrims come to Ghana government coffers? Are the pilgrims on errand for the government or on national assignment? What are the proposed negotiations in Saudi Arabia about and for? Are they for subsidies or zakat from Saudi authorities? What are the religious duties of an individual pilgrim in this matter?

There are over 6 public holidays currently in Ghana dedicated to other religions. We welcome more spirituality for every Ghanaian.

It is a classic case of bait and switch. Elections have consequences, and you Christians have to deal with it.

Please we voted for you to promote the welfare of Ghanaians and not to Islamise Ghana by getting us into the Organisation of Islamic Cooperating Countries (OIC), etc. Today you are happy standing at the National Mosque. You Mahama contributed about GHS 5m towards the Mosque some years ago when you were the Vice President. When Nana Addo championed the National Cathedral, you people spoke against it. On Sunday You will be having Christian Thanksgiving Service at the Independence square, you are not even ashamed of the venue. Ghana a predominantly a Christian Majority does not even have a National Church or Cathedral. France has Notre Dame. Nigeria has a National Cathedral, and so is the USA. But in Ghana, you and your team were against it for political reasons.
