The governments have no plan. They are just greedy looters. After ORAL the NPP will create its own again. The manufacturing sector can be supported by the banks, where the banks import the machines and sell it on high purchase to the private sector to produce what we as a nation have an economic advantage over produce and use locally. The excess is exported to our near and afar neighbours. That alone can create thousands of Jobs and as a nation we will be moving forward. Ghana over 60 years of independence is a complete failed country. Government only buying cars, airoplane charter doing just nonsense with our money.

I still don't understand what this man is saying. Every remittance pass through the system since no one gives physical cash from abroad to the locals. Secondly, those remittances doesn't belong to the government and can't be used as substitute to the IMF loans. Because this man talk bad about e-levy he is finding it difficult to talk of taxing the remittance and even if he says that, the question is, how much is the government going to get to replace the IMF loan. These classroom theorist must be ignored.

We use IMF loans to build roads and take care of our government expenditures. Are we going to use someone's remittance for that? And if you Taz that, is not the same as e-levy? African professors are only good in classrooms.

Dr. Attuahene is damn right, and I have always wondered why the central bank simply doesn't do that. Is it a case of some high level officials benefiting from not tracking the system very well?

Yes, that is a very good suggestion, but I bet Mr. Mahama will never do that. If proper tracing of remittances will help ease the burden, where will politicians and partisans make "Fortuna"? Mr. Mahama needs national security first. Without this, nothing will go well in the system. The police must be greatly strengthened to regain their respect. The police must work and not just be employed. You see, our problem as Ghanaians is that we corrupt the system but we always blame governments for their failure to address it. We give money to the police to avoid punishment, we pay bribes to officers to get things done faster, etc. Ghana needs 276 police stations, each station with at lease 3 armed police forces and a military personal. 3 room building including a cell. This will reduce the number of crimes in our Society.

Sometimes I listen to these our so-called experts advices and makes me wonder what exactly they are driving at.
First of all, who said Debt is bad? And which nation can thrive without debt? Even the world biggest and most economically effective powerhouse thrives on debt. It is not about debts accumulation but where those borrowing are Chanelled to, to make the necessary investments to generate returns to service those debts. If u have a country that doesn't produce anything but but depends solely n heavily on imports, how do u survive without borrowing? If u have a country where everyone prioritizes their own interest above that of the nation (both leaders and followers) and feels ok if they are rich and the country is poor, what do you expect? A country where we worship economic saboteurs and vampires, what do u expect?
Atuahene, come again! Track foreign remittance to do what with it? When individuals send money from abroad home, and u say what will tracking that do to government expending and investments? Please, am not sure whether Ghanaian banker experts are for real and will have a place and be counted among banking experts, so Sir, come again and don't confuse people with your "Banking Expert Consultant Big title". U know there is a saying that people will trust and believe u for what u have endured and survived; and am yet to know what sort of banking is being practiced in the Ghanaian banking sector to gained titles "banking expert/consultants".
Anyway, so much to talk about if I want to pour out! Let's talk another day.

How do we repay a loan contracted to construct a road without a toll boot
Atauhene should rather suggest something better as he has travelled all over the world
We should use electronic cards for toll booths
Foreign vehicles should pay in foreign currency
Is it not stupid for these huge vehicles from burkina Mali and Niger be overloaded and plying on ur roads without paying tolls
