I disagree with you on that in every home there's a bad nut.That argument of yours is coming from the Western world who wants to belittle the importance of Christian religion to human values.I know of Japanese and South Korean children who go thru something similar to what we term the old Presbyterian values who are very upright.The Western World gets marvel and surprise when these adult Japanese and Koreans come closer to them.University admission for e.g. is very difficult in these two countries than in Ghana.

Mr President, with all due respect to you you've got it wrong here. There is nothing "Presbyterian" about being hardworking. Some of the most hardworking people on earth are found in countries which do not have Christian roots whatsoever, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc etc.
The Holy Scriptures are very explicit about the value of HONEST HARD WORK. Repeatedly the scriptures encourage us to work hard and honestly to save and even prepare for the future. When Christs asks us to have no thought about tomorrow He is not asking us to "let tomorrow take care of itself" but rather for us not to fret about tomorrow.The same scriptures encourage us to be proactive, be responsible and prepare for our future wellbeing where possible

ALL HONEST HARD WORK EVENTUALLY YIELDS A PROFIT. THIS IS A GODLY PRINCIPLE WHICH APPLIES TO EVERY MAN,WOMAN ,CHILD ,STUDENT WHETHER THEY BELIEVE IN GOD OR NOT. Now whether those becoming prosperous through hard work get to enjoy the fruits of their hard labor and enjoy peace and contentment ultimately depends on whether or not they reverence and honor the God of Heaven- Now that is a separate issue. As we all know wealth does not automatically give joy and peace but the principle of hard work applies to all.

Too many of us want free handouts. Too many of us fail to understand that we are where we are because we lack discipline and patience and we don't want to work very hard. And by the way it is not enough to be hardworking and patient because all you will be doing is simply marking time. SELF-RELIANCE,STRATEGY AND PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE ARE EQUALLY IMPORTANT.TO SUMMARISE:
HONEST HARD WORK+ PATIENCE +STRATEGY & DISCIPLINE = GREAT SUCCESS. And this takes time. THERE ARE NO SHORT CUTS TO GREAT SUCCESS OR GREAT WEALTH.
The truth is that many of us really need to correct the crooked thinking we have- we think that as soon as somebody give us a generous cash handout or gives us a position in some business or company we will then start to make it big- THIS IS WRONG.
LET ME ASK YOU THIS SIMPLE QUESTION: WHY SHOULD ANYBODY EMPLOY YOU? WHY SHOULD ANYBODY GIVE YOU THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY WHEN YOU HAVE NEVER DEMONSTRATED ANY DISCIPLINE OR ABILITY TO MAKE PROGRESS?
WHY DID YOU DROP OUT OF SCHOOL? WHY DID YOU SPEND ALL THE MONEY YOU MAY HAVE EARNED IN THE PAST ON GIRLS, EXPENSIVE , CLOTHING AND BOOZE? It is no use blaming your Dad, Mom, Siblings or other relatives for your plight at the moment.
Some of us who struggling to find work need to correct our bad habits -this means that some of us need to learn to economize and stop wasting money on nonessentials and some of us need to make ourselves marketable and employable by going back to school, by learning a trade or new skill.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO RECOGNIZE THAT WE MAY BE IN A PLACE OF GREAT DIFFICULTY BECAUSE OF THE POOR CHOICES AND BAD DECISIONS WE MADE REPEATEDLY EARLIER ON IN LIFE AND OUR FAILURE TO TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION . MANY OF US SIMPLY WANTED TO ENJOY FOR THE MOMENT RATHER THAN SACRIFICE IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT ONE DAY WE WOULD ENJOY A GREAT FUTURE -THIS S CALLED DELAYED GRATIFICATION.
THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO MAKE AMENDS, IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO BECOME DISCIPLINED AND RESPONSIBLE- CHANGING OUR BEHAVIOUR IS ALWAYS THE FIRST STEP TO RECOVERY FROM WASTED YEARS. THIS IS THE FIRST STEP IN A JOURNEY OF MANY STEPS THAT EVENTUALLY LEADS TO REAL SUCCESS AND NOBODY CAN DO IT FOR US.
