There are no right sentences ooo these are the laws. If someone at his age commit such offence, that is the right application of the law even though it is sad.
It is now that you go to civil court to claim monetary loss. Yousue the boy and family in court and claim 1 billion cedís for the loss. Even if the court grants 20 years you don't gain but now go to civil court
I think the Chief Justice shd call for a re-trail of this case it is a dent on the image of the Judiciary. Money has changed hands somewhere.

A court is a place where games are played. It can have a bar with a net. The umpire calls the players to the bar to negotiate when there is a foul for a favourable outcome in a fair game.
The boy didn’t buy the car . The owner of the car is responsible for what happened because he took the risk in the first place . The boy is a kid no judgement.

The Court has spoken in the criminal case. But the two families have a civil case to file against The Salifu Amoako family for huge damages. They should immediately get a good lawayer.
Take the child and his parent to civil court. That's where you can win big penalty judgement, and the civil court can really punish the dad financially. you can always bring a civil suit charge even after the criminal trial.
