I fully agree with Joyce. The position should be advertised with a rigorous selection process. Currently, Ghanaians don't have any confidence in the EC.

@MoG. People will always sympathize with a party but that shouldn't determine who should occupy the top civil servant positions. We should differentiate between a Ministerial appointment and appointment of technocrats.

You are so right madam.
The appointment of a person to a position of such prominence should be competitive, meeting certified standards, and not at the wims and caprices of anyone's parochial interests.

What can we do to improve or eliminate rejected ballots. Total rejected was staggering, and the cycle continues each election year without any efforts to solve it. Please, why is there so much rejected ballots?

It seems the NDC continues to be embroiled in its own anti-EC propaganda. Despite all the hue and cry about the EC plotting to rig the elections in favor of the NPP, not a single infraction has been cited. All in all, Jean Mensa and her team have come out unsullied.
Rather, the unwarranted vilification has led to unfortunate incidents of violence against innocent EC officials and destruction of EC offices and assets.
The suggestion for a new process to select the EC is not the solution to mistrust and deliberate lies spread spewed by political parties.

The electoral commission and the judiciary need reforms. As part of these reforms, electoral commissioners and judges should require annual parliamentary assessments of their activities or works, following which their appointments can be terminated if proven unsatisfactory. Parliament should require a minimum of 40% of parliamentarians to approve or disapprove their reappointment to force them to be more accountable to the people and carry out their works in a professional manner devoid of partisanship.
