If Kweku Baako were thinking right, he would acknowledge Rawlings as the founder of the 4th republic. If you recall that, we had earlier had the 1st, 2nd and 3rd republics which unfortunately crashed while the 4th republic keeps marching on, then it becomes clear that there's something unique about the 4th republic.
What makes the 4th republic unique is the Rawlings factor. One can say, Rawlings was not a democrat but when he turned into one to usher in the 4th republic being its first president, he played by the rules without manipulating the system to gain any advantage for himself or his party. Whether you accept Rawlings as a democrat or not, he demonstrated the character of a genuine democrat. Contrast that with what is happening now where say, judges of the highest courts, commissioners of the EC, etc, have virtually become poodles of the government.
Kweku Baako must be smart to know that, the 4th republic owes so much to Rawlings.

There are those who are very partisan and will stand by their Party no matter what. We have nothing against such persons. But for persons like Malik Kweku Baako who pontificate a preponderance to national interest, such a position can only be described as unfortunate.

Limann appeared weak and clueless about how to address Ghana’s challenges. Probity and accountability were thrown out. Limann was wasting time. In addition to the cluelessness, Limann detailed the 24 hour trailing of JJ by national security. Rawlings was intimidated. Inside Rawlings toilet was a painting of a man shooting over the bar in an empty net. Rawlings felt strongly that he has an unfinished business. 31 December 1981 was bound to happen. This is history. However, we had February 26, 1966. The removal of Nkrumah was also necessary because, KN made it very difficult for Ghanaians to speak freely about the CPP. We were denied freedom of association. The 1966 coup was backed by Dr Busia. The LMC handed over Ghana to the Progress Party which is now the NPP. So if Kweku Baako is voting for the NPP, he is not doing so out of ignorance but by choice.
