@Kofi. You hit the nail right on the head. The Ghanaian mentality when in Ghana is a sad one. He’s still young and can restart his life if he doesn’t see a future in soccer. But like the typical Ghanaian he’s concerned about what his friends would say. He would rather eat cramps than take a year or two to learn a trade and rebuild his life.

There is a say NOT how much you earn but how much you save, some players earn millions of pounds but broke after retirement, will you blame anyone? It's the attitude towards money and fame.

There are salaries workers in Ghana who earn between 800 - 1500 for the whole month. They struggle but dont beg.
Players get signed on and receive some signing on fee in bulk, Even if it is 10,000 ghs , it is in bulk. Workers dont get bulk money unless they take a loan so
1. footballers get some bulk signing on fee ( if i say bulk, i dont mean how much)
2. Supporters, especially kotoko, give players money.
3. They get some winning bonuses.
4. They get monthly salaries.
Mostly they first buy sound system with speakers and some small car to use as private cars when they receive their bulk money.
Some of them socialise with most of the money too thinking they will get more bulk when they renew their contract and also winning bonuses every time . So most of them do not plan their life.
A few of them take advantage of fans love for the clubs and visit chiefs who sell them plots of land at a reduced fee and they start to build gradually.
So if low income salaried workers struggle but do not beg i dont see why players ( premier division) should struggle after playing football,
