Contrary to what many Ghanaians had thought of him as a statesman, Kufuor defied all protocol and ethics and belittled himself to street level politics and that is why he is getting his street level comeuppance. His unnecessary, reckless and perhaps desperate gesture and comments made to uplift the flagging fortunes of the NPP presidential candidate, has obliterated a large chunk of the once unquestionable respect and prestige that everyone across the political divide gave him.
