May the deceased's soul rest in peace.This is a very terrible way to die.Only God and the perpetrator(s) of this cruelty know what went on on that faithful day.Having said that,there is a question on my mind.The accused was convicted purely on false statements(lies) made by him when interrogated ,instead of proof beyond all reasonable doubt that he the accused murdered the deceased. It may have been the accused.It may not have been him.Did the police,however consider investigating the one who travelled together with the deceased to Takoradi to sell the car? What if,after sale of the car and collecting the Ghc50,000.00,he the deceased had let's say gone to a drinking spot with such huge sum on him and a criminal or two later ambushed him.Or let's also imagine that the deceased lodge in a guest house or a hotel and perhaps did the terrible thing of showing off the bundle of cash on him to perhaps a pretty but serpentine receptionist or perhaps a hookup girl for the night who ganged with some guys or guy to lure him to where he was murdered? The police,prosecution,the defence,the judge and the jury only opted to pluck the lowest hanging fruit by conspiring without necessarily wanting to do so and sentenced the 'convict' to life imprisonment kwa.Martin Kpebu or honorable Sasu or a human rights lawyer should call for a retrial please and ASAP so that justice will be done.The police say there was a revolver at the crime scene.Who owns it.Did they bother to check for finger prints? Although the gun was supposedly not used in this case,the police were to match fingerprints with that of the convict.Did the deceased have a family or girlfriend? They should have been asked in other to know who travelled with him(the deceased) on that day.Too many unanswered questions here
