Let them take you that court and be having an annoying looking face, your face alone can irritate a judge to hand you a sentence that no one can go and over turn it, unless u are fortunate to have a helper who will be ready to file for an appeal for you, even that wouldn't give u an automatic guarantee of victory, Nobody checks them, they do what pleases them, hence being able to take a goat and set not any mere criminal than armed robber free, nobody check them in that supreme Court, they do what they please, they have just joined power with government to persecute and interfere in Bagbins and the NDC:s affairs in parliament,simply because they see his position as a mistake.They don't interfere in parliamentary business, they are only used to subvert laws in favour of the Npp, so they interfere in issues which is beneficial to the Npp bit hitherto would have gone the other side. It's a one sided interference. Remember they can set a murderer free and jail an innocent person freely without hindrances from anybody, so there isn't anything like checks and balances, it's inexistent. Abuse of power is wat is being displayed.

E levy wasn't a human right issue. Neither does it contradict any provision of the constitution. The constitution says only the high court has jurisdiction to determine vacant seats in parliament. Only after that can the speaker declare the seats vacant. So, which part of the constitution gives the speaker the authority to make the kind of ruling he made? Organs of government enjoys separation of powers as long as they don't transgress their limits set by the constitution. The Supreme Court is not the police, they rule only on cases under their jurisdiction which are brought before them. If the executive does something that you believe is against the constitution its your right to go to the Supreme Court for interpretation.

Until we see the wisdom in choosing the speaker by government in power as was done in the past, the court will seem to be in bed with government bcos whatever decisions the court will take will correct the mistakes of the opposition speaker of parliament.

Brethren all we have to understand is that the Supreme Court is clothed with all the powers and mandate to interprete and resolve all disputes or misunderstanding in the application of the constitution to our governing of our nation. The subject in question is the CONSTITUTION and which l believe parliament has no business in interpreting any of the provisions contained in our constitution!!! To avoid any ambiguity which might emanate from other provisions of the constitution that also has every tendency to conflict with the powers given the Supreme Court in its duty, we all should allow the Supreme Court to basically function as enshrined in the constitution with that duty. The alternative as we see today should only be done by allowing for a Judicial Review if there's any misunderstanding that emanates from the ruling given by the Supreme Court in interpreting the provisions of the constitution.

Efo kwame, the issue in dispute is not about the validity or otherwise of the election of a member of parliament which the high court has jurisdiction. It was about the meaning of the constitution relative to the vacation of seat by a member of parliament. The supreme court has the sole jurisdiction when it comes to meaning of provisions in the constitution irrespective of the subject matter. In ex parte Zanetor the court applied this principle to determine the question of who is candidate for office of member of parliament

All what we are told is that the court has spoken and that is final and we must accept the court verdict regardless of the unreasonableness of the verdict.
