This can never be true! No Ghanaian has 'roasted' John Mahama, the nation builder for his decision to include private schools in the FREE SHS PROGRAMME. Mahama made this point known about two years ago and has been consistently consistent on this position. In any case are children attending private schools not Ghanaians, or are those private schools not owned by Ghanaians who deserve support to support the economy and education? Hasn't Mahama said times without number that he will create a dedicated funding for FREE SHS, which he actually started progressively in 2015? Is he not the originator of the Heritage Fund that the NPP is using to fund their politically motivated and shamefully shambolic FREE SHS? Hasn't Mahama said on numerous occasions that he'll review FREE SHS which you've deliberately misinterpreted to mean cancellation? COME ON!

If government is to fund private schools, then we will all start any cheap or poor-quality private schools as our own businesses to get money from government. And then he also cancelled the Teacher and Nursing trainee allowances.

Now Akuffo-Addo has built over 1700 dormitory facilities to abate the accommodation problem of the overly enrolled Free Senior High School and T-VET program.

Now Akuffo-Addo built 20 whopping T-VET schools and fully equipped all of them as we speak.

And as if that’s not enough Akufo-Addo has also built 10 STEM ( SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ENGINEERING MATHEMATICS) Schools from the scratch out of which seven of them are fully operational as we speak. Are you happy with the overcrowding in our schools currently? How can a school have over 4,500 students at a go? The SHSs are NOT tertiary institutions to keep such huge numbers. How can teaching, learning and supervision go on smoothly in such an environment. It's disaster. Just watch Mahama, the visionary do this. This is a guy, who was able to build Kotoka terminal 3 and Tema Harbour terminal 3, the biggest port in West Africa currently without affecting the country's Financials due to the fact that those operations were done on the entitities own balance sheets. That is prudence and the concept of smart borrowing. Those trolling Mahama may not know what they are doing. They can be forgiven. That God, ignorance have a cure and it's reading and research.

    3. Akufo-Addo has built about 700 dormitories to abate the accommodation deficit of the free SHS, as compared to 27 Mahama’s E - Block High Day schools. Though the goon pledged to build 127.     

4. Akuffo-Addo implemented the National Ambulance and Paramedics with more than 325 state of the art modern ambulances fully equipped with defibrillators, modern ventilators and other Emergency Medical Equipments. Trained the entire staff and set up an entire National Emergency Management System, but John Bentua Mahama teamed up with his Brother Richard Jakpa from Bole Bamboi; together with Ato Forson and supplied Ghanaians with some Kentengo ( empty Bolekejas) eyesores they call ambulance. Something that is not even fit to carry horses, and they call those ambulances?

  5. Akuffo-Addo has built 200 hundred factories as compared to MAHAMA’S one White Elephant project: the Komenda Sugar Factory.    

6.Akufo-Addo has built 600 Earth Dams in the North as compared to Mahama 0 dam, and the reason his SADA tree planting exercise failed because of lack of irrigation.    

7. Akufo-Addo has built 127 Astro turf stadiums, Mahama has built 0. ( zilch)    

8. Akufo-Addo has built a whopping 5 Regional administrative Capitals and infrastructures, as compared to MAHAMA’S 0 (ZIP).    Even Nkrumah only built 4 administrative capitals.  

9. Akufo-Addo has built about 10 overpasses around Ghana as compared to Mahama’s two overpasses.

To enlighten you, the simple thing is gov't will determine a uniform fee for services private schools that want to subscribe to the program will provide. Aside boarding fees that differ among schools, there are educational services that are universal to all high schools and govt's duty is to ensure boarding is a choice and priced reasonably, otherwise such private school that can't compromise can stay away and lose. Period.

There are a lot of people, even NGO’s building schools and charging free. The double track is because government only enrolled government schools and parents flooded to it. It’s all about “POLICY”. The free education under Nana Addo has no policy. There is no source of funding or directions. Hence the curriculum is all over the place, placement all over the place and feeding is all over the place. The government doesn’t always have to build, private people could build for government and rent out or can absorb some of the students at approved government fee’s. The same way NHIS there is a direct policy and payment schemes that private hospitals has to qualify and cry for, the same can be done with education. Stop doing gutter politics. The parents of those kids in private schools have no nightmares about paying the exorbitant school fees charged by the private schools. In fact, the rich people DO NOT want their kids to be educated in public schools, because of the poor examination result which is the consequence of poor teacher motivation.
They have value for their money. Majority of them will pass their examinations with flying colours, and gain admission into the tertiary institutions, the ultimate goal.
How did you educate your kids? Public or private? We need to know.
Leave the education system as it is. Let the choice be for parents to make.
In our current era of abnormal electoral decisions by the electorate, it is possible that some Ghanaians will overlook finger pointing about suspicious corrupt practices and exhibited incompetence when you were president and vote for you. Good luck!
Should it be the case, my suggestion is for you to improve upon the system as it is by paying the TEACHERS very well (something which will make them meet their basic necessities of life, and leave them with some savings), so they can also go on vacation to Dubai if they want to.
Give them teaching materials to help them impart their knowledge to the kids, the leaders of tomorrow.
Provide modern classrooms and spare the innocent kids from studying under trees at the mercy of bird droppings and vagaries of the weather.
Help the private schools to modernize their infrastructure for the leaders of tomorrow.

The only big solution to the present predicament of the double track system is to include the private schools.

NPP was advised to include the private schools but he never listened and that contributed to the introduction of double track system. It was not well planned.

If NPP had included the private schools, the state have saved millions of dollars since its too expensive to build new infrastructure

Ghanaians are suffering because the

The government used to post students to Private SHS and the government did not pay their utility fees, government did not pay teachers etc. there are quality private SHS in Ghana with well qualified Ghanaian graduate teachers.

The NPP should wait and see. They never listened to good advice.

By the way this election is all about the economy. Yes, the economy and not free education. After all there are millions of responsible Ghanaians who can fees

Let's face it, the over-crowding at these government schools has been going long before the free SHS program was implemented, and not much has been done to address the issue nationally. Private schools should only be given tax breaks on the importation of school necessities for their institutions.

Parents of private schools pay taxes just like those whose children are in government schools.
This "roast" of Mahama does not make any sense. The state must pay the school fees of all those attending any educational institution in Ghana both state and private, period.
