After listening to the AG make his case, I am now convinced that Speaker Bagbin erred in following an erroneous precedent set by Speaker Oquaye. An erroneous precedent is not settled precedent and Hon. Asiamah could have gone to the Supreme Court to challenge Oquaye's ruling. Indeed, some NDC members like Mahama Ayariga encouraged Asiamah to do exactly that. Today, the same NDC lawyers asking Asiamah to go to court to challenge Oquaye's ruling are the ones saying Bagbin's ruling is proper, and the court does not have the power to set the ruling aside. And you have notable lawyers like Tsatsu backing this argument. It's the lack of principle for me!
