to issue the necessary documents to proceed.
This maybe correct,.... but am not
sure.
But if is correct,.....then I am not surprised, coz Ghana don't do anything today,that can be done tomorrow. Are not the best to get ANYTHING done.
The documents, had a breakdown, of the various stakeholders percentages ,once the project got going, and Ghana's cut was only 10%
which is way too low.....I know the Government wouldn't have coughed up any money,......but in today's
Environment 10% dividend ,that's business done 20 years ago.
In China,that would never happen, you wanna do business in China,you expect to cough up a 50% margin
If you wanted a project to proceed .
With Gold at record highs, about $ 2500 USD AN OUNCE. Ghana could have cashed in here....and are getting a pittance for this project.
It's about time,that the Ministers who negotiate these deals need to be realistic and smarten up to get a better outcome. Even if Ghana take a 20% stake in the project. ....the miners will make a killing, with record gold prices.....it's a win win situation. Go Figure.
