WASN’T ALAN BAGBIN SWORN IN BY THE CHIEF JUSTICE?
LOOK AT THE MAN WHO HELD A SWORD AND RECITED THE WORDS OF THE OATH TO THE CHIEF JUSTICE NOW TELLING THE CHIEF JUSTICE TO SHUT UP!
Bag-bini is just arrogant. I have never heard in the history of Ghana Parliament that a Speaker is holding a Press Conference. You see what makes Alan Osman Bag-bini different from the other former Speakers?
He became Speaker by a mistake: I mean on the thread, he never envisaged that he will ever be appointed a Speaker of the Parliament, though he has acted in that capacity in the Past under Joe Adjahoe. Nevertheless he never ever dreamed of getting appointed to that position, especially the fact that a stupid woman as we all know sneaked from the NPP caucus and voted for such hubris character. Look at the way he dresses. He sometimes put a crown of Southern Ghana traditional leaders, what does supposed to mean? A crowned king or Chief? Look at the way he handles himself as if he is ruling as a leader of a parallel government, and not subject to Ghanaian laws and Authority.
He is not even the second in command according to the Ghanaian constitution. Even if he is appointed substantial leader who is he going to swear to? Not the Chief Justice? Arrogant braggadocio!
Gomda Abdul Hafiz 1 year ago
Chief Justice swearing in the Speaker of parliament is a formality but clearly it doesn’t make the Speaker answerable to the Chief Justice, think out of the box

How did Mahama, a known clown become a leader in Ghana? At least Akufo-Addo is the son of a former president isn’t it? And also three of the founding fathers of Ghana ( Big six) are his immediate relatives ( his father and two of his uncles) isn’t that also the fact? So in the essence, Akufo-Addo is the real Ghanaian Prince. Unlike JJ Rawlings whose mother was the cook to Ghanaian leaders, but then took a gun paraded and killed all the people that his mother served as a cook. How is that possible?
It’s only in Ghana, otherwise how can moron Togolese like you question the legitimacy of the real Ghanaian Prince Akufo-Addo? Kwaseato!

Article 97 (g) if he leaves the party of which he was a member at the time of his election to Parliament to join another party or seeks to remain in Parliament as an independent member; or
(h) if he was elected a member of Parliament as an independent candidate and joins a political party.
My questions to the speaker and the NDC are;
1. Did those MPs seek to remain in parliament as independent for the tenure of office they were elected?
2. Did they declare that they were no longer part of the NPP under this particular parliament?
3. Did they declare they won't vote in favor of the NPP during this parliament?
If your answers are 'No' then you are misinterpreting the constitution and creating a mess. That's why it's only the affected party which can determine whether the seats should be declared vacant. The constitution even gives exception to the situation where there's alliance or merger sanctioned by the affected parties. Which means the NPP has the legal right to say they will work with those four MPs for the rest of their tenure though they want to go independent in the next parliament. Remember those MPs are filling to go independent in the next parliament, not this current parliament for which they remain elected by their constituents. The Supreme Court was right. But the prejudice and ego of the speaker is driving him crazy. We have cases in the past, but they had to do with MPs who crossed carpet within their tenure, like the case of prof Wayo Seini of Tamale and others and those cases always call for by-elections.

@ MT : THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
I PUT THE SAME QUESTIONS TO BAG-BINI.
BAGBIN SHOULD ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS, AND EVEN IF HE ANSWERS NO TO JUST ONE OF THEM HE SHOULD BE IMPEACHED IMMEDIATELY.
1. Did the NPP petition Speaker Bagbin to declare those seats vacant? If the NPP didn’t petition Alan Bagbin to remove the MP’S, under what capacity did the Speaker made a decision on behalf of the Majority ( NPP) Isles in the House? And Determined that those MP’s have removed themselves from the NPP house Caucus?
2. When did NDC party or the minority in the House become a spokesperson for the NPP (majority), to the extent the Speakers didn’t wait for the NPP to file their own petition to have those seats removed?
3. Is the Speaker very sound in decision making after he based his decision on the NDC’s explanation that the former Speaker Mike Ocquaye set the precedent for his decision based on how the latter ruled on similar case in 2020 when he declared Asiamah’s seat vacant after the NPP petitioned the former Speaker to act accordingly? How come the Speaker didn’t take into consideration how distinctly distant the two cases are, since it was the NPP that declared that they couldn’t settle their differences with Asiamah amicably and so he ceases to be a member of the NPP from whence: and that’s what formed the basis of the former Speaker’s decision to remove Asiamah from the House?
4. Did NPP House leadership had any prior discussions with the minority ( NDC) leadership and informed the minority leadership that those NPP MP’S have been removed from the party or have resigned from the party and so they intended to petition the Speaker accordingly? And did Speaker bother himself to get that explanation from the NPP before declaring those vacant?
5. Did NPP say anything to the Speaker in respect to any strained relationships with those NPP MP’s or indicated that there wasn’t any hope of mending their differences and so the Speaker should declare their seats vacant just like what happened in 2020?
CONCLUSION:
IF ALAN OSMAN BAGBIN ANSWERS ANY OF THESE QUESTIONS NOT IN AFFIRMATION, IT MEANS BAGBIN ACTED RECKLESSLY AND WAS PREJUDICED IN HIS DECISIONS, THEREFORE HE SHOULD BE IMPEACHED IMMEDIATELY AS THE SPEAKER OF GHANA’S PARLIAMENT!
