SO THE ARMED ROBBERS WERE PRESUMABLY RELUCTANTLY COMPELLED TO DO WHAT THEY COULD, TO ALSO HAVE THEIR SHARE OF THE "NATIONAL CAKE".

IN A SERIOUSLY CIVILIZED SOCIETY, THAT "KING" WILL BE MADE TO ACCOUNT FOR EVERY PENNY HE RECEIVES IN GOLD BARS AND ROYALTIES FROM EVERY SINGLE GOLD MINER IN THE ASHANTI REGION. BUT NO, NOT IN BANKRUPT GHANA! WHY? BECAUSE THE "KING" SHARES THE PROCEEDS FROM GOLD MINING AND THE ROYALTIES WITH GHANA'S SUCCESSIVE LEADERS, PERIOD. THAT'S WHY THAT "KING" OR DEFACTO HEAD OF STATE OF GHANA IS UNTOUCHABLE IN GHANA.

THE SAME SADNESS IS VISITED ON AKWATIA AND PRESTEA, WHICH ARE TO THIS DAY, SERIOUSLY DEPRIVED WASTELANDS AND HAMLETS DESPITE DECADES OF DIAMONDS AND GOLD MINING IN THOSE AREAS.

The shop needs to be investigated as well. If the shop has a been target twice in the last quarter, what has the management done to improve security to protect its employees and customers? Every employee of the shop must be interviewed thoroughly by the police and also confiscate all messages to and from the shop 30 minutes prior to the transaction and 30 minutes after. Communication companies in the country must volunteer to provide all electronic and phone conversations to and from the shop. For instance the place needs armed security agents or have secured entrance and anonymous exits. How about insisting on electronic payment systems only (perhaps, the government should instruct all business engaged in precious metals to issue electronic payments only)?
