Th CJ has explained it clearly in the ruling. The speaker was wrong in his ruling. The NDC should go to the high court if they think the seats should be declared vacant. As for the Supreme Court, their jurisdiction is to provide interpretation of the law and have done so comprehensively. Parliament can be both a court and legislature, making laws and interpreting them at the same time. The speaker's action rather violates the separation of power he's preaching.

OMG ! Power pass man! I mentioned a few days ago that the Speaker’s false ego will be dried in the streets like rotten tomatoes. Now it is coming out that besides his anarchic mischievous predisposition towards the 1992 constitution, his behavior now brothers on criminality as well? As the AG pointed out after the proceedings, the Speaker’s seems to have procured legal representation illegally by violating the PPA law? The SC has also educated us that under the Supremacy architecture of the 1992 constitution, the is senior amongst the three branches of governance. The framers expected that the politicians can’t be trusted to protect our rights and freedoms. Therefore the SC was given the power to cure political mischiefs that abridge our rights and freedoms.
As educated, what is going on at the SC is not against him , the Speaker personally but rather against his office, therefore he should keep his ego in his pocket, obey the SC rulings , ignore partisan misinformed legal experts , return to parliament to complete his term of office and retire to his village. Our parliament is not sovereign under the 1992 constitution.What is going on adds nothing positive to the lives of Ghanaians. Chill Speaker St.Bagbin!!!

Article 99 comes in and says the high court shall declare seats of MP'S VACANT. Go to any civilize nation and investigate how they choose those who sit at their court. Those people are not voted for, and they interpret the constitution. Here in the US, the Judges who sit at the courts are not voted for rather nominated and vetted through congress then approved or disapproved. That is the same scenario in Ghana, but a stupid NDC supporter thinks that if their party goes to the court and lose a case, those at the court should be dismissed and new ones appointed.

We are not in the "Stone Age" rather 21st century. It is the same court that acquitted Ato Forson so, what has changed? Bagbin knows he goofed because despite being a lawyer, his mandate is not to interpret the constitution because that is the work of the Supreme court. Why are some of us trying to smear our bodies with something that stinks?
