You are exposing your ignorance and illiteracy with regard to the constitution without knowing it. Where in the constitution does it say parliament is under Supreme Court? The supreme court’s role is to interpret the constitution, period, and not to interfere with the decision of any other arm of government. If someone feels that a decision in not lawfully made, he can take it to the Supreme Court for interpretation ( just like Afenyo-Markin did). That doesn’t mean parliament is under the Supreme Court. I think I need more time to educate you on the functions of the various branches of government

@ Frankie:
BAGBIN SHOULD ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS, AND EVEN HE ANSWERS NO TO JUST ONE OF THEM HE SHOULD BE IMPEACHED IMMEDIATELY.
1. Did the NPP petition Speaker Bagbin to declare those seats vacant? If the NPP didn’t petition Alan Bagbin to remove the MP’S, under what capacity did the Speaker made a decision on behalf of the Majority ( NPP) Isles in the House? Determined that those MP’s have removed themselves from the NPP house Caucus?
2. When did NDC party or the minority in the House become a spokesperson for the NPP (majority), to the extent the Speakers didn’t wait for the NPP to file their own petition to have those seats removed?
3. Is the Speaker very sound in decision making after he based his decision on the NDC’s explanation that the former Speaker Mike Ocquay set the precedent for his decision based on how the latter ruled on similar case in 2020 when he declared Asiamah’s seat vacant after the NPP petitioned the former Speaker to act accordingly? How come the Speaker didn’t take into consideration how distinctly distant the two cases are, since it was the NPP that declared that they couldn’t settle their differences with Asiamah amicably and so he ceases to be a member of the NPP from whence: and that’s what formed the basis of the former Speaker’s decision to remove Asiamah from the House?
4. Did NPP House leadership had any prior discussions with the minority ( NDC) leadership and informed the minority leadership that those NPP MP’S have been removed from the party or have resigned from the party and so they intended to petition the Speaker accordingly? And did Speaker bother himself to get that explanation from the NPP before declaring those vacant?
5. Did NPP say anything to the Speaker in respect to any strained relationships with those NPP MP’s or indicated that there wasn’t any hope of mending their differences and so the Speaker should declare their seats vacant just like what happened in 2020?
CONCLUSION:
IF ALAN OSMAN BAGBIN ANSWERS ANY OF THESE QUESTIONS NOT IN AFFIRMATION, IT MEANS BAGBIN ACTED RECKLESSLY AND WAS PREJUDICED IN HIS DECISIONS, THEREFORE HE SHOULD BE IMPEACHED IMMEDIATELY AS THE SPEAKER OF GHANA’S PARLIAMENT!

Bagbin and the NDC are only embarking on this just to stall the recall of parliament and wind the clock down till parliament is dissolved for elections. It is only intended to frustrate governance.
What Bagbin does not realise is that history would be very unkind to him and he'll go down as the worst speaker of the 4th Republic.

Speaker Bagbin is 100% right to challenge the Suprême Court if they go wrong.Even King Solomon made some terrible mistakes so judges are not angels from heaven.
According to the Constitution, Speaker and MPs enjoy immunity clauses in Article 117 of which Chief justice should respect the Law.
Bagbin simply applied Article 97 in the Constitution against the affected MPs so what is Suprême Court talking about ?
Is SC saying the Constitution is wrong or Bagbin is wrong ?
Is Article 97 useless or bogus in the Constitution ?
The duty of Chief justice is to defend the Constitution not NPP's crooked tactics.
Was it Bagbin who sacked MPs from their parties or is he responsible for their actions ? No sir.Tnx.

Supreme court in recent times has allowed itself to be manipulated by this useless Akufo Addo led NPP government making the court to become politically affiliated to NPP. Over 90% of Ghanaians has lost trust in the highest court of the land. Even circuit courts in our villages command more respect than the current Supreme court. Those politically affiliated five judges who entertained Afenyo Markin knows very well that such matters have procedures for challenge at parliament. NPP never tackled not even a single of such procedure and quickly rushed to the SC which they think they can control. Why didn't they go to high court in the first place. Yes , I said on this platform. More than a week ago that the little fella had legal advice on where he was going with this exercise...The NDC
Leader in the house, had discussed with the speaker long ago ,about the issue of 4 seats being vacant because of some candidates being
Bumped at preselection process for the party ticket.
So he knew what he was doing, was within.the boundaries of the law as written, and the NPP was blidsided and caught off guard....Actually, it was a stroke of genius , by the little bloke.....(speaker)....so let the Parliament soldier on and get on with business.

NPP 's own constitution outline that any one who decides to go independent AUTOMATICALLY FOREFEIT his or her membership. Fools. What does the word AUTOMATIC means? Does it mean further deliberation with independent candidates to declare their stands? ODWAN, you think you know everything on this earth. Your action is putting supreme court into needless public riducule and embarrassment. THE SUPREME COURT SHOULD WISE UP TO SAVE THEIR INTEGRITY.

You people do you know that from the Auditors report a whooping US 17 million was used to create 'Smart Offices' during the COVID-19 time but no such centres were created but the contractor was paid that amount. From Public Accounts Committee (PAC), NITA under ministry of communication was the executing agency. NITA did not turn up to explain why the money was paid but no work done. The shocking part is that the contractor is Frontiers & Co who were the managers at KIA COVID-19 screening. What a country. They have share the US 17 million making you and me suffer.
From the same report out of 21 billion ghs COVID money only 11 billion ghs was used. Ask where the money went.
