THE MARCHING RHYTHM WAS SIMILAR TO THE ONE THEY DID AGAINST THE FREE SHS, SURPRISINGLY SAME BODY MOVEMENTS. I DON’T KNOW WHERE THEY LEARNT IT FROM. I AM HAPPY AND PROUD TO BE OSONO BA!!! I STARTED FOLLOWING POLITICS WHEN I SAW NANA ADDO CAMPAIGNING TO BE PRESIDENT AFTER KUFFOUR LEFT. I WAS ENCHANTED AND CAPTIVATED BY HIS GREAT SPEECHES, HIS ACCENT AND CONTROL OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE. AROUND THAT TIME, I FOUND GHANAWEB AND HAVE BEEN NPP TILL NOW. I AM GRATEFUL TO GOD FOR GIFTING ME THE OSONO KOKROKO. Congratulations, Ayorkor Botchwey for the honour done us.In 1964, 60 years ago at the Commonwealth Conference, our pioneer President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah who took Ghana to the Commonwealth after lndependence in 1957, proposed and it was endorsed unanimously the establishment of a permanent Secretariat for the Commonwealth. And so the Commonwealth Secretariat came into being in 1965.Arnold Smith, a Canadian was appointed its first Secretary General and A. L. Adu, from Ghana, the first Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and later on Secretary to the Cabinet became the first Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth. Please see page 63 Diplomacy under Dr Kwame Nkrumah by S E Quarm and page 87 Peace without Power Ghana 's Foreign Policy 1957-1966 by Kwesi Armah.Ghana which gained its independence in 1957 was the first African member of the Commonwealth. And it was Ghana 's first President, Dr who first proposed the establishment of the Commonwealth Secretariat and Ghana provided A. L Adu as the first Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth. 59 years later in 2024, Ghana has provided the Secretary General of the Commonwealth.
