Because legislative work resolves around committees constituted on Majority and Minority caucuses , an MP for party A is barred from switching sides to party B in order to make Parliamentary work stable. Also it is to protect the mandate of the constituents , if you are elected to represent Party A by your constituency, u can’t betray that mandate by switching sides while in Parliament . Now if an MP decides to contest in a future elections on a different ticket , how does that affect Parliamentary work or stability? How does that betray the current mandate ? Is he not going to seek validation from the constituents anyway? Ghana for agyimi too much!

They are therefore, from the very moment when they file as independent candidates, no longer members of the party and as such, cannot continue to represent the party in parliament.
Bagbin is right in declaring the seats vacant.
I would be most surprised and disappointed in the Supreme Court if they rule otherwise.

In politics you either win or lose, and when the ELECTORATES decide otherwise you don't have to resort to doing things in a manner that will bring the image of the party into disrepute. So with ALL SERIOUSNESS, can such characters ever dream of coming back to the party in their lifetime again? The fact that you find yourself in the midst of the tribes who are sympathizers of the party doesn't mean you own it or everybody. Nobody owes you for anything. So they can choose to go independent or even join to vote against their own party's choice of speaker of parliament to engage in acts which causes the vast majority of the citizens to suffer, it's your own cup of tea. A vast majority of the party members will kick against it in future when you ever attempt to join it again. On that note, the party should in future vet candidates with good character and gravitas to vie for positions and elections on the ticket of the party. Ghanaians will go through testing times, but that will also pass. God is watching.
