The fact that the Bible records a historical fact or event does not necessarily mean the Bible is prescribing that event or situation is a model or example.
The Bible faithfully records all kinds of historical facts and events - both good and bad. Some are meant to be models for us while others are meant to be lessons for us. For instance, the also says that king Solomon's heart was turned away from God unto idols by many of his foreign wives. So do not use the mere fact that some historical fact is recorded in the Bible as excuse to justify your desires and actions. Afterall, the Bible also talks about each man having only one wife - why do you choose to ignore that?

The one wife idea was introduced by Paul, not Almighty God. Where in the Bible did God declare that we should marry only one wife? Your colleague is mocking someone who engages in a polygamous marriage and you find nothing wrong with that but when he was properly addressed, you are peeved. Again, leaders have to live an exemplary life and if your God would send leaders who are corrupt for mankind to follow, then their mission should be questionable! Why should I follow someone who is not righteous or upright? Look, Christianity is a man-made religion. It has never been proclaimed in the Bible. It is Paul's idea and not entirely reliable. Jesus' mission was superb but it has been manipulated after his ascension. Read the Bible well, there are some facts about my points there!

Hello Musah,
Remember though that the bible is God's direct words to mankind and it was written through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Paul could not have wriiten those letters without the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Kindly read 2 Peter 1:21 - For prophesy never had its origin in the human will, but prophtes though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. Joshua 1:8 - Keep this book of the law always on your lips, meditate on it day and night and be careful to obey everything written in it, then you'll be prosperous and successful. Hope this helps...if Pauls teachings were his own, then you are by extension syaing the bible is not true. The bible is as true as its AUTHOR - GOD!!

Justice Atuguba just explained the issue to himself but he went on explaining until he lost it. The NPP side knew exactly where to go under this circumstance. The speaker had already declared the seats vacant and the Supreme Court was the best body to give interpretation of the law whether the speaker's action was constitutional or not. And the court was right in their ruling that speaker has no power to declare the seats vacant. As Atubuga just explained that the case lies in the jurisdiction of the high court, the logical thing to do is to advice the NDC to go there instead of faulting the ruling of the Supreme Court and encouraging their (NDC) unconstitutional conduct. Remember it is the NDC who want the seats declared vacant so they are the ones to go to the high court, not the NPP. One doesn't have to be a lawyer to figure this case out. It's plain and clear. Please use your retirement well and stop showing your NDC colors in important national issues.

Another senile old goat. This whole brouhaha stems from wrongful or otherwise interpretations of provisions in the constitution. Which body is mandated to interpret the constitution. It’s the Supreme Court and not the High Court. The High Court has jurisdiction over the declaration of a seat as vacant and not the Speaker of Parliament. That is the only role of the High Court in this issue. When the issue also incorporates the possible disenfranchisement of constituents and therefore borders on denying their human rights, it’s the Supreme Court that has the power of interpretation.

So this is the kind of garbage the journalists have been churning out for us on this platform? Imagine I didn't have the chance to watch the interview from beginning to the end, I would have been misled by the caption of this article. Why didn't you touch on the greater part where he supported the suit and even encouraged the Supreme court to help resolve the issue? He said it was wrong for the NPP Mps to approach the SC with it, but he said the first point of call should have been the high court, and if they have challenges with an interpretation, they'll refer it to the SC. However, in the final analysis, he said whatever it is, the supreme court has jurisdictions superior powers over all the courts in the country (words to that effect). He even said, the posturing of parties to a case brought before the court can let the court take an action in a way (words to that effect). I suspected it from the way the journalist was pushing him with suggestive wordings that, he wanted to incriminate him. Why wouldn't our journalists focus on development news but try to turn the media landscape to overly political journalism like that.

@Street Lawyer, the answer to the question you posed in the last sentence of your comment is found in the simple fact that most, if not all of, our journalists aren't intelligent enough. They don't educate themselves on issues and that explains why most of them are only interested in sensationalism. Unfortunately, just a few of them bring any good understanding to any discourse.

Eeeiii Justice Atuguba, have you soon forgotten your law concerning the interpretation of an Article in a Constitution? It's only the Supreme Court that has the power to interpretation the Constitution. What's happening in Parliament boards on the interpretation of Article 97. Only the Supreme Court has the power to do that interpretation. As it is now, the Supreme Court has not given any interpretation but only stayed the decision of the Speaker of Parliament. This means that the Speaker should hold on till the Supreme Court brings the actual meaning of the said clause in Article 97.
What is happening is only calling for an interpretation of Article 97.

I am not a lawyer but to my opinion, afenyo must be punished by parliament for not regarding parliamentary standing orders. He is in the best position to understand separation of powers.
I have now understood issues concerning our politics in Ghana. It’s all about interest. You just left office and you disagreed with the decisions by your own colleagues.God saves Ghana
We remember you so well, Atguba. You were never among the brilliant and brightest judges in the apex court.
This man is beating about the bush. The Supreme Court shall have the final say in this issue. So NDC Atuguba don’t disgrace yourself
You are a retired Supreme Court Justice so you don't speak on certain matters to throw the current ones under the bus. If the ruling had come from the high court's, NDC would also quickly appeal to the Supreme Court for inter ...

Old learned man, the invocation of the SC has to do with constitutional interpretation!! Your NDC spectacle is clouding your judgement!!
Atubuga is showing his true colors, first as a die-hard NDC fool and second, he is a typical fool who does not respect the position as a retired CJ. How many of those retired CJ's have commented on the issue other him?

Some Ghanaians if an issue is against them, then it's bad.if it favours them is good.
If a middle school leaver like me can read article 97 g and h in a simple English language and understand it and unless a supreme court of Ghana interpreted it, then Ghana has a serious problem.
Masa going to the high Court first before high Court refers
it to Supreme Court is an optional of which that decision lies in the bossom of the plaintiff. The constitution did not forcely stipulate that for the records. ...

Atuguba you are a disgrace, you were right to give victory to John mahama as E.C. accepted illegality in voting results which proof mahama didn't have 50+1 votes.
PLEASE MY QUESTION IS, WHAT DOES THE CONSTITUTION OF THE PARTIES SAY WHEN A MEMBER GOES INDEPENDENT. THE MEMBER AUTOMATICALLY LOOSES HIS MEMBERSHIP. THIS BROUHAHA IS NEEDLESS. THE FEAR OF BEING THE MINORITY IS THE PROBLEM. ...
