This illiterate and uncouth tribalist advertising his stay in New York can surely inflame others' opinion. Why aren't you living in the country if your NPP has made the country livable? Why are you in the United States, you partisan dolt? Why do you even see the need to advertise your stay in New York, villager?
As I have written in the past, it's tribally oriented Ghanaians like you who are partly responsible for the sorry state of Ghana. You only see good things when your tribe-affiliated party is in power. There's one Ghana for all of us whether NPP or not, NDC or not.
I could care less what Bagbin and the NDC leadership have done vis-a-vis suspension of parliament. It is their judicial recourse given the politicized supreme court. If you can't handle it, go and drink some galamsey water.

Your inflammatory and deeply offensive comments not only reflect a complete lack of decorum but also an appalling disregard for respectful dialogue. Resorting to personal insults and tribal attacks reveals nothing but your own ignorance and inability to engage constructively. Throwing around accusations based on political and tribal lines only perpetuates the very divisions you claim to condemn.
If you are truly concerned about the state of Ghana, perhaps you should focus on contributing positively to the discourse rather than spewing hatred and venom. Living abroad, whether in New York or anywhere else, does not diminish one’s connection to Ghana or their right to have a voice in its future. Your attempt to shame someone for their location is not only irrelevant but also a weak and baseless argument.
Your derision of tribal identity as a point of attack is a sad reflection of the very tribalism you claim to oppose. Ghana belongs to all Ghanaians, regardless of where they live, which political party they support, or what tribe they belong to. So before you preach about unity, try showing a little respect.
Your casual suggestion to “drink some galamsey water” is not only cruel but reflects a shocking lack of empathy for the real, human suffering caused by galamsey. Instead of wallowing in your own bitterness, I suggest you reflect on how to engage in meaningful, constructive conversations about the issues that matter to Ghanaians.

Duku,
Your points are well taken, but until you are conversant with this commenter's postings, don't be quick to condemn me. I have mentioned to him numerous times to tone down what seems to be a one-sided argument bordering on tribal politics. He is devoid of rational thinking when it comes to our politics. Everything NDC does is bad, and everything the NPP does is good and worthy of serious defense-- as nauseating and disgusting as it may be. I lost my patience the last we crossed paths. All the bone-headed miscreance of the NPP is sanitized while the wrongs of the NDC should be laid bare for all to see.
Clearly, I'm apolitical and not prone to tribal politics. (In fact, my preference is for a military takeover as disgusting as it may seem. The NDC and NPP take turns robbing the country, and they should be made aware that there are other options.)
This "Stephen Donkor, New York" is the same guy who would come on these pages to defend Asantehene's refusal to outlaw galamsey in the Ashanti Region. How could this be when the same Asantehene claims to be more powerful than the president and our constitution? Meanwhile, when I point out that the chiefs of the Volta Region who don't claim superiority have outlawed galamsey in their territories without presidential or governmental involvement, these people foam at the mouth. How could somebody claim to love Ghana and be devoid of such observations? I'm an Ashanti myself, so to see people defend the indefensible gets my blood pressure up. Aren't there news reportage of babies being born deformed and people suffering from the deleteriousness of galamsey? The same "Stephen Donkor, New York" would rather point to galamsey in other regions and give Asantehene a break. It's anathema to speak I'll of Asantehene, even when people are dying on his watch. And for what? Because he is benefiting from it?
I know you won't understand the depth of pain that shoots through my eyes when I see the country we inherited from our ancestors being decimated socially, economically, and environmentally. And for a cantankerous individuals like Stephen Donkor to post comments perenially defending the indefensible is too much for me.

Jonas, I have serious disagreements with your position. Sure, the erstwhile military regimes were corrupt. Rawlings had good intentions but was ensnared by and mired in the corruption he came to fight. As far as the unsavory aspects of military takeover, believe me when I tell you that Rawlings killed a relative of mine--a member of the supreme military council. I don't say this lightly, as I harbored deep hatred for Rawlings till his death. But I do realize that, as terrible as the military regimes of the past were, our leaders weren't as corrupt as those we have under the fourth republic. Whoever thought Rawlings, as corrupt as he was, would call his own party members "greedy bastards"?
Mind you, Mahama's tenure was deemed the most corrupt until Akuffo Addo's administration. Today, people pine for Mahama's comeback not because his administration wasn't corrupt, but because Akuffo Addo 's administration has outdone the former's. What am I saying? These two parties take turns robbing the country in broadday light, and they have no incentive to do better because all they have to do is go to opposition and wait for the other party to mess up, which is guaranteed.
At least when I was in school back in the days, the threat of being whipped when I misbehaved or didn't perform well is responsible for being the successful, upright citizen that I am today.
What is wrong with the military breathing down the necks of these NDC and NPP crooks, so they know the country has options besides them?
What is wrong with pining for military takeover in the likeness of Rawlings but without the corruption?

Yes, this is Ghana. Some of us act before we think, and that is very sad indeed. All these "nothings" that had become "somethings" is the fault of Bagbin who acted before thinking, why?
What happened under Mike Ocquaye is entirely different from this because when the Fomena MP, Asiamah declared independent, John Boadu, then NPP secretary general, wrote to Mike Ocquaye on which the speaker used that letter to declare Asiamah's seat vacant. Now, here is the interesting part. After that Asiamah sided with NPP in all parliamentary businesses so, when these MPs decided to go independent after the net election, did we hear any of the general secretary of NPP and NDC telling the speaker to declare any of the seats vacant, if not, how did the speaker come to that conclusion?
Also, if the speaker bars the MPs from entering parliament, who will represent their constituencies? Bagbin acted irrationally which is wrong because as a speaker, he should think before acting but trying to play the usual politics to help NDC will not work.

The NDC is ruining Bagbin's reputation by pressuring him to follow their instructions. The party leaders are manipulating him for their own gain, which will ultimately tarnish his reputation. Becoming a speaker brought about many challenges, and his departure is establishing a negative example that will define his time in Parliament as unfavorable.
