The current interpretation of Article 97 is before the Court and Ghana awaits. The Court's ruling will set apart legal luminaries from half-baked lawyers.

  This is why the court needs to be extremely careful. If it sets a bad precedent it will haunt us forever. Unless one can show that the speaker broke the law, the Supreme Court has no business in parliament. The court and the parliament are both independent entities with equal powers. I hope that for once, our politicians and the courts will put Ghana first.
