The fight over the election of Speaker was caused by NPP MPs..Article 104 clause (4) of the 1992 constitution is very clear that voting for speaker of parliament should be secret voting, so that nobody will see the one an MP is voting for..this is to prevent victimisation of MPs…but NPP MPs led by Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu said no the voting should be open…is that constitutional? The NDC MPs had to fight for the right thing to be done in accordance with the constitution’s article 104(4)…so NDC MPs have done very well if not NPP would have governed this country unconstitutionally …NPP is lawless but they have loud mouths to throw dust into the minds of their gullible supporters who don’t question anything….NDC is a great party..keep fighting for the good of this country…God and well meaning Ghanaians with clear conscience are behind you solidly…

It is unfortunate Bagbin's era as speaker turned out to be the most chaotic, most undisciplined, most rancorous. As the longest personality in Parliament now, as MP and speaker, it is sad this is how he is ending his many years in Parliament. Bagbin is not a happy man and so are some of us, who have supported him all this while. I don't think he will challenge the directive of the court. Posterity will judge him favourably.

Our constitution was somehow poorly put together. These MPs aim to contest the next elections on different platforms. They must be allowed to serve until the end of the current lesson. Those MPs who lost their sets at the primaries were not kicked out immediately, because their terms of office end only at the end of the current session. The candidates who win at the next polls will only take up their positions when they are sworn in at the next session, so what really is the matter? The fact that the last speaker declared some sets vacant before the last elections doe not mean that the current speaker must do the same, if that process was unconstitutional and wrong! Let us act s civilized humans!
