I am not surprised at the people of Atuna because I have worked in Jaman South District before. These are people who even protect their forests when bushfires are prevalent in the area. They created a fire belts around their forests to prevent bushfires. They were the first community to have green vegetation in Jaman south of the Brong Ahofo region during the whole dry season in Ghana. So I am happy that they have preserved their forests.

I can boldly say that the traditional leaders especially the chiefs in most communities are greatly involved in the gamansey practice. Nobody can enter a community land for any purpose without the knowledge of the traditional chief. Our political leaders are fully involved, who gave the Chinese visa to enter Ghana? How can a Chinese get concession without approval from the District or Municipal Assembly ? Why are our men in uniform sitting aloof for? The politicians are hiding behind democracy and are harming us. The so called democracy will not help Africa.
