A whole Speaker and a lawyer tto boot, who should be championing the course of the constitution was running away from being served for purely partisan political interests. The Speaker should be serious. He’s not being paid to go and joke In parliament. The Ghanaian constitution reigns supreme and the Supreme Court Justices are the custodians of that constitution. How can you declare parliamentary seats vacant when you have less than two months to an election and you know perfectly well there cannot be a bye election? You simply deny the affected constituents representation in parliament. Just so your party in parliament can become the majority and frustrate all government business? What could be more parochial than that. Ghana does not belong to only a section of Ghanaians.

Do you see the signature of the Governor and that inscription on the cedi coins? Are the coins also not used for payments? By law, coins should not have been accepted but by practice, yes. The supreme Court globally have the mandate to interpret any laws passed by the land and if found contradictions which at times comes from the human right law, they can re-write the law either shredding it by taking certain things out or adding more to it even though its not their mandate to make new law. It is their mandate to interpret the law passed and correct errors. If deemed to have contradictions they can amend the law passed and sometimes it doesn't happen until someone challenges or seek interpretation in the court so what they have done is done everywhere globally. America is a typical example with so many cases where the supreme Court has overruled parliament on some issues so you can do your research if wants to learn and don't follow these bias politicians and the so called lawyers who are supporters of either party A or B and wants to politicise everything.
