The law and the courts have a duty to protect the country. The law is only good if the nation is protected by the sane law. That is why courts thinking is different from that of the individuals.

Akuffo has only explained things from procedural point of view and he is potentially right. Read the ruling of the court. That is fundamental to the functioning of the parliament and the nation.

The decision of the court and the action of the speaker are different and Akuffo coming from procedural point of view is also a matter that is different. Put all together and we should ask, whose decision creates stability in the country or protects the fundamental rights of the citizens?
The supreme Court decision is that the members of Parliament should be allowed to serve their mandate. The mandate is that they are still members of the current parliamentary and they have not resigned. They have only expressed interest to serve in different capacities if they win the next election.

In my mind the supreme Court has ruled correctly and in the interest of the nation.

It appears the various Ghanaian institutions don't take cognizance of the opinion polls or surveys 70% of Ghanaians say they don't trust the courts system but it appears this woman is not listening.

Must judges be killed because they deliver judgments that do not favor you? Ato Forson got a favorable Supreme Court judgment and suddenly our judges were the best. People who lost their properties under a dictatorial PNDC regime had them restored to them by fair minded judges and so the judges ought to be killed? Was Rawlings who was behind all the murders killed for accepting $5Million bribe, from the butcherman President Abacha of Nigeria, killed and his body burnt? Mr legal expert, there are a lot of positions where the occupants are not judged bit are seen as the equivalent as one be it high court etc and the EC chair, speaker among others qualified as such. So their pronouncements or actions amounts to a judgement. In any case, the case before the SC was the purported interpretation of the constitution by the speaker. The speaker was served by the bailiff of the SC even before in made his ruling. The affected party went to the SC to report the breach and the acted. The SC acted to effect the notice of service the speaker ignored and that's why his ruling was suspended and not quashed. So Mr legal expert go back to your books!! Those justices on the bench at the SC are not jokers!!
