From my lay man view when a seat is declared vacant there must be a bye elections. So by what the speaker has done is there going to be a bye elections. I can see that the speaker acted out frustration.

In this Parliament, it is easy for Majority to become Minority.NPP has 137 MPs and NDC has 137 MPs. NPP is the Majority because the independent MP joined the NPP side. If the independent MP decides to join the NDC side the table will turn. Again if two NPP MPs die today NDC will the Majority. It is important to educate ourselves properly on pariamentary issues. In the current Parliament the possibility of Minority becoming the Majority is very high.

You are right on point, Dr Pelgrave, but party members must be whip into line to be loyal than allow their own greed to put her in difficult position like this. You were chosen democratically to lead your constituents, and then when they choose someone in your place, you decided, without thinking twice, to go independent and through that, put the party's image into disrepute. Such individuals should be expelled from the party with no right to come back to her in the future.

Being a lawyer is a noble profession in other jurisdictions but the situation in Ghana is gradualling becoming different where every fool is called a lawyer or judge without discrimination because of political affiliation.
