By the way, Mike Ocquaye's case and this are not the same because in the Mike Ocquaye'case, the MP involved crossed carpet while in parliament hence his seat being declared vacant. Unlike this case, the MPs had declared their intentions not to be part of NPP during the next parliament so, let's weigh both cases and see if they are the same.
The other crossed carpet while in parliament, the current MPs made their intention not to join NPP during the next parliamentary session. So, that is that.

Based on your explanation that technically makes the Fomena MP one whose seat should be declared vacant. He came into Parliament as an independent candidate and as one who was expelled by the NPP prior to his election making him a non-NPP member. This time he stood on the ticket of NPP and as such has been made a party member while serving his term as an independent candidate...I believe In the spirit of the law per your explanation he will be the only MP whose seat should be declared vacant...anaa mi boa??

The purpose of the law is to prevent MPs from switching sides during a parliamentary term in order to ensure parliamentary stability as well as maintain the mandate bestowed onto the MP by the electorates . So if the electorates voted for u because u are NPP , if you go to Parliament u just can’t decide to switch and betray that mandate .
How cld they interpret the law to mean an MP who decide to switch allegiance in a future elections shd forfeit his current mandate. How ? Isn’t it stupid ?

In Bagbin's own words, we do not have a majority party in this parliament. What we have is a majority caucus made up of NPP and one independent candidate. His statement made at a public Lecture in Legon recently casts him as a dishonest person by now describing Fomena no longer as an independent but as having joined NPP. In fact Bagbin has acted irresponsibly and could have thrown this country into chaos.
