If the protesters are predominantly Ewes--if that is to be believed--it makes sense because they don't allow galamsey in the Volta Region. They aren't as greedy as Akans to destroy their own people in the name of money. Moreover, they care about their fellow Ghanaians to protest in and on their behalf because what they know is bad for them is also bad for others, even if they aren't politically and tribally aligned.

Another point to note is that these protesters don't live on an island. Whatever affects other regions can also affect them. Galamsey-tainted waters that go into preparation of foodstuff go to every region of Ghana. And the last YouTube video I watched, the Volta River is starting to see the effects of this menace via galamsey in the North.

Sometimes I feel the urge to call those on the other side of this issue stupid. I have a reason to also believe they may be paid trolls. Regardless of our politics, don't we have the decency to say when something is right or wrong?

And, annoyingly, the politicians behind galamsey are subsidized by our government if they seek medical care outside the country. The masses are left to their own devices, namely, herbal treatment or substandard medical care.

I can only speak for myself: I am an Akan who has lost all hope in both the NPP and NDC. This galamsey issue may be the same or worse when the NDC wins. After all, these parties take turns robbing the country.

We need a reset via military takeover.
