Agriculture in Ghana helps feed the 30 million plus population.
It is not perfect, it has room for improvement. It is surely not a joke, whatever that means.

The farm inputs are very expensive. Harvest losses are on account of climate change and missing rain falls, just when the farmers need rain. Dirty water can not be used for irrigation or anything else. Instead of producing herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers and animal feed, for fish and Poultry, all items are imported and paid in foreign currency. But the farmers are paid in local currency. They can not deliver for local demand and to local conditions. No warehouses for storage. Transport to markets is a mess. The budget of the farmers is too small. They have to compromise.

How can it not be a joke that an Agriculture minister heart/interests lies in hotels and the purchasing of them. What mindset and drive is being put into the job?
How can it be that once upon a time in Ghana, Agriculture productivity recorded a negative percentage growth. The minister then we are told had never handled a Cutlass before or managed a garden perhaps. He had to be moved into the Aviation ministry.
How can it be that a small Netherlands country by population/landmass has punched strongly above its weight to become the 3rd most powerful agriculture produce exporter in the world after USA and China. The Netherlands exported 124 billion euros of agriculture produce in year 2023. Their carrots can sometimes be found on the shelves of ShopRite in West Hills mall. They were very lucky to have an agric minister decades earlier who understood Agriculture systems, practices and policies. The Netherlands has since never looked back.
How can it not be a joke that a country Ghana blessed with so much river bodies, the largest manmade volta river in the world, billions of gallons of fresh water from the annual bagree dam spillage from Burkina faso, yet farmers cry of drought?
